Jenny Portillo-Nacu
Jenny Portillo-Nacu has 15 years of experience in education. She specializes in providing equity-centered training and technical assistance (TTA) that builds the capacity of state departments of education, districts, and schools to adopt and sustain instructional practices that support student belonging and family engagement.
Currently, Jenny currently serves as the Project Manager for ISCL. She also works as a Senior Training and Technical Assistance Associate for EDC, supporting the work of EDC’s First 10 Initiative and the Regional Education Laboratory for the Northeast & Islands (REL-NEI). Jenny is also a consultant for the Region I Equity Assistance Center and the Statewide Family Engagement Center for Maine, both operated by MAEC.
Previously, Jenny was an elementary school teacher, school administrator, professional development facilitator, and curriculum designer. She is the lead author of 21st Century Learning at Home and Empowering Multilingual Families.
Jenny holds an Ed.M in School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. While at Harvard, Jenny was awarded the Equity and Inclusion Fellowship and the Intellectual Contribution Award for School Leadership. Jenny also holds an MA in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a BA in English and History from Fordham University.
