Bridget Rodriguez

Bridget is the Senior Director for Field Engagement at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). She works in the office of HGSE Dean, Nonie Lesaux, to advance the priorities of the school related to partnerships and engagement with the field.

Prior to joining the Dean’s office, Bridget served as the Managing Director of EdRedesign at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She was a member of the organization’s founding team and oversaw its growth for ten years from a start-up to a leading national organization supporting students and families through cradle-to-career place-based partnerships.  

Previously, Bridget served as the Director of Planning and Collaboration in the Executive Office of Education (EOE), the Massachusetts Secretary of Education’s office. There she led the Innovation Schools initiative and facilitated the establishment of 54 Innovation Schools across the Commonwealth.  During this time, she also served as the Secretary’s designee to the Board of Early Education and Care.

Bridget has also served as a consultant for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), and the Education Liaison to two mayors of Cambridge, MA where she advised on Superintendent searches, contract negotiations, school mergers and closures, and a major reconfiguration of the K-8 schools' structure.

Bridget began her career as a bilingual teacher through her Teach For America placement in the Los Angeles region. She continued in the classroom as a teacher in a two-way bilingual program in the Cambridge Public Schools, MA, where she also served as an assistant principal and principal. Her school-based experience informs and guides her work to this day.  

Bridget holds a BA from Haverford College and a master's in education administration from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She serves on several non-profit boards, including the Teach for America Massachusetts Advisory Board and the Cambridge Family Policy Council.
